Night Focus:
Do Your Cameras See Clearly At Night?
A CCTV camera may be in perfect focus during daylight hours but can be out of focus at night. How is this possible? A CCTV camera adjusts to changes in light levels by opening & closing the aperture in its auto-iris lens. Depth of field decreases as the iris opens to let in more light at night. This means that lens focus adjustment is most critical at night & other low light conditions.
You should check the recording of your cameras on a regular basis. This includes checking day and night recorded images. If you find a camera out of focus at night does that mean it needs to be focused at night? Not at all. We have the specialty tools and experience it takes to make the lens focus adjustments during the day.
Call your account representative today to request a preventive maintenance check on your CCTV system. We check day and night focus on every PM visit. We will adjust the lens focus on any camera that is out of focus.
You will see clearly day and night.
